Newton Mass Murder - The Judgment of God

Like everyone else, I was horrified about the loss of 26 lives in Newton Connecticut this past weekend. Most of all, being that little children were the targets of this mass murder. As I listen to the news and I hear people on radio talk shows trying to understand why such a tragedy is happening, I can't help but mourn at the real answer. Our dim-witted politicians will blame guns and will take this as an opportunity to seize more power for themselves in the form of more gun control. The thoughtless lemmings who believe everything they hear on the news will go along with this opinion and vote for policies that will only make them more vulnerable to these kinds of crazy people.

Proverbs 29:18a  Where there is no vision, the people are unrestrained...

The real reason for why these kinds of tragedies are happening more and more often is the judgment of God upon our nation. Our society has thrown off the restraints of accountability before God and as a result, godless people act out their sordid fantasies without any thought of a standing before a Holy God who will judge them after they die.

God is releasing the restraints of man's sin and it's results because of our rejection of Him. He is fast abandoning our country to eat the fruit of its own ways as He did to Israel:

Lamentations 2:7  The Lord has spurned His altar, He has abandoned His sanctuary; He has given up the walls of her palaces Into the hand of the enemy...

Just last week, Ray Comfort just released a new movie that demonstrates the godless, unrestrained wickedness of our generation that has little or no value for life:

Although we should mourn the loss of 20 innocent children and 6 of their teachers, I  want to ask: "Where is the mourning for the 1.4 million children that are murdered before they are ever born?"

Every 20 seconds in America, a baby is torn from its mother’s womb and discarded; about 1.4 million unborn babies are aborted every year in the U.S., not to mention the 40 to 60 million children (one every half second) aborted each year worldwideThis killing spree is fueled by the fact that 3 out of 4 Americans say abortion should remain legal; ironically, out of this group, 50% say that abortion is murder.

Ray Comfort also released a movie last year that reveals the folly of our people in regards to their mindless, thoughtless inconsistency on abortion and mass murder:

.

Everything from the stock market crash of 2008 (which just so happened to drop 777 points), the continual events of mass murders...oh and I almost forgot the face-eating zombies that also attacked earlier this year...are the judgment of God. I know that when you dare to say something like this, you will get labeled as a crazy, fundamentalist, nut-job; but it has to be said. There is no other explanation. When there is no vision, the people are unrestrained. It is the passive judgment of God when He abandons a society to its own ways to reap the consequences of their own sin and we all suffer because of it.

We cannot have peace unless we are ruled by the Prince of Peace, the One who will finally come and put an end to all this chaos:

Jeremiah 23:5  Behold, the days are coming," says the LORD, "That I will raise to David a Branch of righteousness; A King shall reign and prosper, And execute judgment and righteousness in the earth

Here is some food for thought: According to NRO, Mass shootings are no more common than they have been in past decades, despite the impression given by the media.

In fact, the high point for mass killings in the U.S. was 1929, according to criminologist Grant Duwe of the Minnesota Department of Corrections.

Incidents of mass murder in the U.S. declined from 42 in the 1990s to 26 in the first decade of this century.

I know these facts don't fit your conclusion but nevertheless they should be considered.

I wonder what those mass murders were related to back then? Prohibition perhaps, like the St. Valentines Day massacre?

Judgment doesn't usually take the form of the 10 plagues in Exodus or the raining of fire and brimstone like Sodom. One thing for sure, when God loosens the restraints of sinful men in whatever measure, it is judgment (Romans 1).

Read Romans 1 and ask yourself what the judgment of God "IS" and what is for. The judgment is the very acts of sin...homosexuality is God's judgment on society. WHY? Because they worship not God. Be careful when saying God is judging us because America has rejected God morally.

Do you think it pleases God when we worship idols in a moral way? I don't believe so. The solution to this isn't the removal of homosexuality and abortion. God demands obedience...and this is impossible for anyone. Therefore our only hope is to point to Christ. What you are doing is pointing to peoples failures and saying, "See what you have done, God is mad at you because you have done all these wicked things...not stop doing those wicked things and God will stop judging you."

The only response to the shootings is the gospel. Christ came because we are like this. America doesn't need to act better so God will be happy...that it's impossible . We DON'T have the same deal as Israel. God isn't going to bless us if we keep the ten commandments. The ten commandments aren't even Christian. They only show us we are unable to keep even one of them. Yes, they show us God's moral law for us...but why would we want to put people under this law? They need the righteousness of Christ...not moral laws to obey.

We look to Christ love for us to govern our actions...not the ten commandments.

What people need to hear about is their hope in God...not stop doing bad things so God wan't be angry with you.

Food for thought.
